Marlesbury awnings Corinthia Hong Kong

Marlesbury installation in Hong Kong

20 Jan 2017

Having previously undertaken installations in numerous European countries and across the Australasian continent most recently we have been involved in a new build project in Hong Kong called Corinthia By The Sea. For this project we constructed special bespoke awnings based on our unique Marlesbury model to bring an additional focus to the striking entrance lobby. This prestigious Asian location incorporates special hardwood and marble features and the finish to the awnings necessarily had to be carried out in a manner befitting the high quality of the overall development.

With this brief in mind, and after consultation with the project designers, the awnings to the lower level were constructed using our point motion arms which then incorporated solid stainless steel slides with crafted brass finials and fixings. The crimson awning fabric was mounted  on to the awnings in one continuous seamless width encompassing the length of the front profile; thus creating a drop shadow to the valances which accentuated the subtle branding text below.

To the upper level it was considered more aesthetically appropriate to use the classic black Marlesbury arms which blended perfectly with the balustrading around the upper, shuttered windows.

Each of the Corinthia hotels and resorts  to be found in some of the most exciting places in the world, is a tribute to local architecture and cultural traditions. All Corinthia hotels feature extensive leisure and business traveller facilities and are renowned for their unique characters.
