Greenwich awning in mount street

Mount Street - a showroom for Morco awnings

14 Dec 2017

Awnings have been a feature of Mount Street in the heart of London's Mayfair for nearly 200 years and many of these have been manufactured and installed by us as London's leading awning manufacturer, from our base in the East end of the city in view of the River Thames.  Our traditional manufacturing methods are complimented by the use of modern tooling and technology to ensure that, not only do these awnings meet the design criteria dictated by the original awning style, but the use of modern components, where appropriate, gives the product an enhanced integrity and greater life.

Mount Street is especially notable for the Victorian, Greenwich  and Marlesbury awnings we have installed with particularly deep projections, necessitated by the great height of the windows. You can see here  some fabulous examples of our work in Mount street which includes the following prestigious premises: Jamavar Restaurant, Mount Street Deli, Christopher Kane and Marc Jacobs fashion and Scotts Seafood Restaurant.

Our  Victorian awnings, are installed with the traditional pull down poles and the slightly more modern Marlesbury and Greenwich awnings with gear operation. However, increasingly we are asked to electrify these awnings so that they can be more easily and safely opened and retracted. This is possible with the Marlesbury and Greenwich awning. The pivoting arms of our Victorian, Greenwich  and Marlesbury awnings are fabricated from mild steel and are the means of projecting the blind outwards from the face of the building to which it is attached. The arms are powder coated to provide a smart finish and maximum resistance to weathering

Mount Street is mostly made up of four and five storey older buildings, often with retail premises on the ground floor, and some mansion blocks. The Embassy of Brazil is located at 54 Mount Street (the chancery department is at 14-16 Cockspur Street). Mount Street is particularly notable for , apart from the aforementioned awnings, some fascination architectural detail which is revealed to the passer-by if they will look up above the Morco awning festooned shop fronts.
