Signature Tornado parasols at The Betjeman

In addition to our traditional and modern  awning systems, we also have a fine range of heavy duty large parasols. For the Betjeman this particular model, the Signature Tornado, was specified for both its elegance and robustness.

The Tornado giant parasol can be specified as a built in model sunk into the ground or, as in this case, with a weighted portable base giving greater flexibility of positioning. Heaters are also incorporated for the comfort of guests.

There is a poetic air surrounding this  pub, situated in the midst of the bustling terminus of St Pancras International Station. Hardly surprising since the pub is named after the Poet Laureate, Sir John Betjeman, a passionate defender of  Victorian architecture typified by this magnificent building.

Sir John Betjeman, CBE 28 August 1906 – 19 May 1984) was an English poet, writer, and broadcaster who described himself as a "poet and hack". He was Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom from 1972 until his death.

He was a founding member of the Victorian Society and began his career as a journalist and ended it as one of the most popular British Poets.
