Awning Mimi's hotel

Victorian awnings for Mimi's Hotel

3 Feb 2017

Despite the 150 years or so the Victorian awning has been a feature of our high streets; for Morco customers it is still a most popular purchase. The nature of the architecture in London does not always lend itself to the more modern, sophisticated, aluminium awning systems and the Morco Victorian awning is often the perfect choice. Our bespoke shop awnings feature only the finest cloth, metalwork and hardwoods which create a Victorian awning that is both beautiful and long-lasting. A recent example can be seen at Mimi's Hotel in Frith Street, Soho, London in dark grey fabric with gold branding.

In the centre of Soho, Mimi`s Hotel is right on the doorstep of the best London has to offer. The hotel is  a brand new construction hidden behind historic facades and offers not only  high end, luxurious, finishes but also a style which is a perfect fit for Soho`s creative neighbourhood. The ground floor houses the bar with fireplace and reclaimed oak flooring and has a rich ambiance with bespoke furniture that evolves from a cosy breakfast and meeting spot in the morning to a vibrant cocktail bar at night.

Frith Street was built in the years around 1680, and was apparently named after a wealthy builder named Richard Frith. In the 18th and early 19th centuries many artistic and literary people came to live in Soho. Today Frith street is part of the thriving and exciting atmosphere which epitomises this part of London.
